Alfredo Mirandé

Alfredo Mirandé is a distinguished professor of sociology and ethnic studies at the University of California, Riverside. He holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Nebraska and a JD from Stanford University. Mirandé was a Ford Foundation and a Rockefeller Post-Doctoral Fellow, and he was inducted into the Illinois State University Hall of Fame (2018). A member of the State Bar of California and a practicing attorney, Mirandé’s teaching and research interests are in Chicano sociology, gender, masculinity, transnational migration, and law and social justice. He has published numerous journal articles and twelve books.
