Dominique Bockelée-Morvan
Dominique Bockelée-Morvan is a senior scientist and director of research at France’s CNRS (National Center of Scientific Research). She received her state doctorate from the University of Paris in 1987. Her research interests include cometary atmospheres, radiative transfer and excitation models, and radio and infrared lines. Her work on space missions and telescopes includes her work as co-investigator of MIRO and VIRTIS instruments on the Rosetta (ESA) comet mission and as astronomy co-investigator on the HIFI instrument of the Herschel Space Observatory. Bockelée-Morvan’s other professional activity includes her current service as the president of Commission 15 at the International Astronomical Union, as well as her past positions as the head of the Planetology Group of LESIA (Paris Observatory), and as vice-director of the ARPEGES Laboratory (Paris Observatory). She has been awarded the National Order of the Legion of Honour, the highest French order of civil merit, and the Silver Medal of the CNRS.
