Emily Ruehs-Navarro

Emily Ruehs-Navarro is an assistant professor of sociology at Elmhurst University, where she teaches on migration, race, gender, and family. She is the author of the book Unaccompanied: The Plight of Immigrant Youth at the Border. Ruehs-Navarro has advocated for immigrant rights in various capacities, including as an English teacher in rural migrant camps, as a child advocate for detained youth, and as a case manager in refugee resettlement.
