Fernando Herrera Calderón is an associate professor of history at the University of Northern Iowa. A social historian of twentieth-century Mexico, his work focuses on student movements, political violence, human rights struggles, revolutionary imaginaries, and the Cold War’s imprint on Latin America. He has written extensively on these topics, contributing book chapters and articles that examine dissent, the operations of state repression, and the historical development of revolutionary subjectivities.
