Francisco X. Alarcón

Francisco X. Alarcón was a Chicano poet and educator. The author of twelve volumes of poetry, he was the recipient of literary prizes including the Before Columbus Foundation's American Book Award, the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Award, and the University of California, Irvine, Chicano/Latino Literary Prize. He taught at the University of California, Davis, where he directed the Spanish for Native Speakers Program.
