Janice Gould

Janice Gould was Koyoonk’auwi (Concow), a California tribe. She published four books of poetry, and her scholarly work includes personal essays and an edited book on contemporary American Indian poetry. Her poetry won awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Astraea Foundation. She earned her BA in linguistics and an MA in English from the University of California, and she earned her PhD in English from the University of New Mexico.
