Kaitlin M. Brown is an assistant professor of anthropology specializing in public archaeology at California State University, Northridge. Her work draws on collaborative, community-based, and reflexive methods to illuminate how Indigenous communities navigated successive waves of settler colonialism in western North America. She examines how archaeology as a discipline remains entangled in these same colonial dynamics and extends her work to broader contemporary issues confronting the field in the twenty-first century.
