Kim Shuck

Kim Shuck (enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma) is a poet and visual artist. She served as the seventh poet laureate of San Francisco and is the author of nine solo books and chapbooks, co-author of two, and part of the editing team of another ten. Shuck curates three monthly poetry readings in San Francisco and is working on a series of small regional anthologies from around California. She was awarded an inaugural National Laureate Fellowship from the Academy of American Poets. Her most recent book is Pick a Garnet to Sleep In.
