Litzy Galarza

Litzy Galarza is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Pittsburgh. A first-generation Mexican American scholar, her research sits at the intersection of media studies, Latinx studies, and citizenship studies, with a focus on the representation of Latinx labor and citizenship in television and popular media. Her work has appeared in Communication and Race, Howard Journal of Communications, International Journal of Communication, and edited volumes published by Routledge. Jane the Citizen: Conditional Belonging and Latinx Representation on TV is her first book.
