Lorena V. Márquez

Born in Lodi, California, to Mexican immigrant farm workers and raised in nearby Galt, Lorena V. Márquez has never forgotten her roots. In fact, as the fourth of seven children and the only one to attend college, she credits her humble upbringing to help fuel her drive to pursue her educational goals. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Chicana/o Studies at the University of California, Davis.
