Nicolás Kanellos

Nicolás Kanellos is the Brown Foundation Professor of Hispanic Literature at the University of Houston. He is the director of Arte Público Press, the oldest and largest publisher of U.S. Hispanic literature and scholarship, and the founder and director of Recovering the US Hispanic Literary Heritage, a national research project. He is the author of numerous books, including Hispanic Immigrant Literature: El Sueño del Retorno, which received the Southwest Book Award for Non-Fiction; Hispanic Literature of the United States: A Comprehensive Reference; and Thirty Million Strong: Reclaiming the Hispanic Image in U.S. History.
