Rachel Cypher

Rachel Cypher is an anthropologist whose work examines how people inhabit worlds under conditions of ecological and social rupture. Her research in Argentina and the American West explores industrial agriculture and emergent ecologies. She is co-editor of Rubber Boots Methods for the Anthropocene: Doing Fieldwork in Multispecies Worlds. A Fulbright Scholar and former postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, she was raised with the commune that built Biosphere 2.
