Shirley Achor

Shirley Achor was an anthropologist, educator, and author. She received a PhD in anthropology from Southern Methodist University, and taught at Richland College, Texas Woman’s University, and East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University, Commerce), where she served as an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology until her retirement in 1995. She passed away in 2005.
