Celebrating Aurelie Sheehan

Celebrate and remember the legacy of one of Tucson’s most vibrant authors and beloved creative writing professors, Aurelie Sheehan, who died on August 13, 2023.

This public celebration will include readings, remarks, and reminiscences from Sheehan’s colleagues and students.  A professor of English for more than 24 years at the University of Arizona, Sheehan was the author of the novels The Anxiety of Everyday Objects and History Lesson for Girls, the short story collections Jack Kerouac Is Pregnant and Demigods on Speedway, the novella This Blue, and two books of shorter prose pieces: Jewelry Box: A Collection of Histories and Once into the Night.
