Ilan Stavans at the National Museum of Mexican Art

Wednesday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. – The National Museum of Mexican Art hosts the world premiere event for the release of Ilan Stavans’ Sor Juana: Or, the Persistence of Pop, which encapsulates the life, times, and legacy of Sor Juana. In this immersive work, Stavans provides a biographical and meditative picture of the ways in which popular perceptions of her life and body of work both shape and reflect modern Latinx culture.

The two day celebration begins Wednesday with a lecture presentation from Ilan Stavans, followed by a panel discussion the following night.
