The Natural History Institute will host a talk by University of Arizona Press author Gary Paul Nabhan, entitled “The Nature of Three Deserts – Sonoran and Arabian and the Desert Within.” Nabhan’s essay in his latest anthology, The Nature of Desert Nature, challenges traditional notions of the desert and reveals the complexity of what a desert is and can be. He writes passionately about visiting and living in deserts, creating a new frame through which he turns age-old notions of the desert on their heads.
