Desert Botanical Gardens’ book release celebration for The Saguaro Cactus: A Natural History

Thursday, March 5, 6 p.m. at 1201 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix.

Co-authors Kevin Hultine and David Yetman will discuss the saguaro’s role in Sonoran Desert ecology, its adaptations to the desert climate, its sacred place in Indigenous culture, and our love for this iconic symbol. Hultine is a research ecologist at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, and Yetman, a research social scientist at the Southwest Center of the University of Arizona, is producer and host of the PBS television series, In the Americas with David Yetman.

The event features a wine and cheese reception, 6-6:30 p.m. at the Eliot Patio. Books will be available there for purchase. The author panel and presentation takes place from 6:30-7 p.m. in the Webster Auditorium, followed by a book signing.
