2026 Western History Association Conference

When: October 21-24, 2026

Where: Portland, Oregon

The University of Arizona Press is attending the 66th annual Western History Association conference in Portland! This year’s theme is “Unsettled: New Wests, New Lessons.”

On the theme, the program committee writes, “Communities and scholars continue to expand our understanding of who prospered and suffered in the North American West. They have unsettled the past by showing us that the past is unsettling. They demand that we attend to climate, migration, misery, resistance, sovereignty, and safety.”

We look forward to seeing you at the conference! Be sure to stop by our booth to browse our wonderful collection of new and recent history titles, and talk to our Editor-in-Chief Kristen Buckles. If you would like to set up a meeting with Kristen, email her at kbuckles@uapress.arizona.edu.
